NSW Imagery

The New South Wales Department of Lands will use ER Mapper's Image Web Server to distribute data from its Planning and Natural Resource Information Integration Environment project.

PANRIIE uses high-resolution (2-3 metre) satellite imagery from the Spot-5 satellite to provide coverage of the state. The data is being supplied by Raytheon Australia in Canberra. The imagery is being processed by GeoImage in Brisbane.

Image Web Server is an enterprise image delivery and integration solution that serves large volumes of image data via a Local Area Network or the Internet.

The PANRIIE contract also includes the provision of the ERM imagery integration framework, RightWebMap, as well as integration and consultancy services.

Lands says special software is required to manage the hundreds of gigabytes of Spot-5 imagery it has received.
