  • The National Native Title Tribunal In Perth requires a senior geospatial specialist. The Tribunal will pay $73,785 - $79,671 plus super. the successful applicant will lead a regional team. Responsibilities will include co-ordinating the delivery of specialised geospatial information, products and services. They will also be required to provide high level advice on geospatial policy relating to native title and agreement-making matters. Information is available on line.

  • Oracle Corporation is holding its inaugural Queensland Oracle Spatial user forum on 9 December. The company is urging current users to attend the event, which is being organised by Open Spatial Australia. For information or to register, contact Peter Kinne on +61-429-966-361.

  • Michael Elfick was acknowledged for his contribution to the spatial industry at OZRI 2005. Elfick has led Geodata in developing the yet-to-be-released ArcGIS Survey Analyst extension. The product will enable survey data to be accessible within a GIS, whilst retaining its quality for survey purposes.

  • GITA has issued a call for papers for its two main conferences next year, Quick ... Where are my assets and what state are they in? is the theme of the 2006 seminar in Wellington on 28 February. The A/NZ annual conference (Melbourne, 22-23 August) has the theme: No Barriers ...Connected. Responsive. Prepared.
